How do I get an EPC?

***Energy Performance Certificate only £65 for a limited period***

The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 states that EPCs must be produced by a qualifed, accredited Energy Assessor.

The Energy Assessor will visit your home and collect the data required to produce the certificate. This will include information such as:

  • The type and age of property
  • All insulation in the property e.g. wall, roof, water cylinder
  • Whether double glazing is present
  • Heating systems and controls
  • The overall measurements of the property
  • Any other energy saving methods e.g low energy bulbs, solar panels

This information will be collated and a certificate be produced.

Depending on the type of property, the assessment will take no longer than 45 minutes and will be non-obtrusive.

The Energy Performance Certificate will be produced, based on this information and a report provided, detailing typical fuel costs of, and emissions from, the property.
